i always want to talk about video games in school.. when i come home from school i usally play video games non stop before i go to bed and it affects my school work.. any tips you guys have that could help me focus on my school work?

try to set 'limits' on how many hours (or times a day) you will play this (example from 2 to 4 and 7-8) and also remember that if you fail you will have to retake the courses, or if you pass with low grades could affect the schools you can attend later on (colleges)

I started playing video games at 12 and I was reading a article about it and I now realize that I had been addicted to them. I have now broken that addiction through have a job and playing high school basket ball. Now I am 21 and I have problems socializing with women. I believe that my socializing ability with women is bad. Can someone please help!

You have a job and are playing on a team (little concerned that youare playing on a High School team and you are 21).

So, the next step is to expand your base of friends. Can you join a Basketball League of guys your own age? Are there any co-oed leagues?

You need to meet women in a social setting where you can become friends. Don't even think about romantic relationships - you are just 21 and have all the time in the world. You want the interactions with women to be positive, so keep the pressure off yourself. Focus on making male and female friends with the same interests. Are there groups at work? Can you go to lunch with them? Do they meet up after work? Stick to situations where there are lots of people where you can observe and then take small steps.

You will eventually meet someone special, and if you follow the above steps, you will have the confidence to deal with that special lady.

We've bought over $3650 Aust.worth of games over the past five years and my little nephew won't give video games a break. He practically plays them from the moment he gets home until he sleeps then all weekend. We try to get him away from them as much as we can but feel as though it's our fault because we used to play video games all of the time. He does do afternoon sports and watches a few cartoons before he goes to bed. But we're afraid he has too much of a video game addiction. He's only ten. Should we stop buying him games? What to do we've bought a wii and playstation 3 and also own and xbox and whole bunch of gamecube games. Is there anything we can do? Is it safe for kids to grow up this way?

My little brother is exactly like that and he started not doing homework, skipping school, faking sick, etc. to stay home and play games. He also turned into a spoiled little brat. I would suggest no games or tv until homework is done and then restricted play time for only 1-2 hours per day.

Ok, I will finally admit I have a video game addiction problem. Luckily my grades haven't suffered yet, but when I get into the hardcore classes for my degree I know if I don't quit I will end up flunking out. I play more hours than anyone really needs to know right now and all I do is get frustrated, curse at the screen and rarely have fun, but I still play for God knows what reason. I need help on quitting badly. The only other thing I do in life for enjoyment is guitar and music. I really need help on quitting video games before it ruins the rest of my life. Serious answers only please.
WoW is a garbage kiddy game. Right now I am playing R6V for hours on end until my head hurts and then some. I already told my family about this problem and all they did was laugh. I told them to give it time but video game addiction will be in every psycologist handbook. Doing social things aren't for me. I get scared and just like to be by myself.

Try to get outdoors more often, come here with us ( weird zombie noises ), join a group in your neighborhood, come here with us ( weird zombie noises ), play the guitar or come here with us ( more weird zombie noises )
