No, I'm not a heroin addict. However, I would like to know some more information on treatments that use for heroin addicts in hospitals. Help please?
Any treatments.
Don't leave an answer that is stupid or judgmental.
As a general rule, no hospital will attempt treatment unless/until addicted person has enrolled in rehab program. Not everyone needs or has hospital treatment, but those who do are there a short time for detoxification. Their physical and mental status is closely monitored and they are medicated as indicated (not with the addicted substance).
Withdrawal (in some instances) can be life-threatening if not accompanied by medication.
Meet people deep in the throws of a heroin addiction, with no way out.
I want to open a methadone clinic in Pahrump, NV and need to know the statistics of heroin addicts in that area. Where would I go for this information?

Try giving these folks a call, they may know best where to direct you. Good luck.
i need help finding the name of a documentary i saw several months ago on HBO, cinemax or showtime. i think it takes place on the sunset strip in los angeles, and is about a group of young heroin addicts that live on the streets. thanks in advance for any help.
I saw a show several months ago that sounds like what you are describing. When i saw it, it was one MSNBC and it was called "The Runaways" (I believe, "MSNBC Investigates: The Runaways," to be exact). I'm not sure if it's the same one, this one featured a very young couple that had just moved from Hawaii and another young girl with a shaved head that had a baby, among others.
I have a brother who is a serious heroin addict and am compelled to get him some help before he dies on the streets, he has no insurance and I can pay some but not much for his treatment.
Thanks for the responses so far, I think he would go to treatment if it was available, he's on the streets in California, I'm in Texas, he's HIV+ and has a new born baby that's not + but in Foster Care and the mother still wants be a part of his life but she's in rehab for 6 months. If I can find a treatment center I will drive there, find him and admit him.
Depends where you live. Many larger cities have free rehab and methadone treatment. Most cities have a Narcotics Anonymous program. Contact them to find out where your brother can get free help in your area.
I assume your brother wants the help. I don't want to sound like a pessimist, but he will not get better until HE comes to realize he has a problem. Unless he seriously wants help, do not throw your money away or risk your insurance. I urge you to attend a Narcotics Anonymous, Alcoholics Anonymous, or Al-Anon meeting to find out how you can help him help himself. Best of luck, and God Bless.
