What are the common withdrawal symptoms for heroin addiction?

Hot and cold sweats, runny nose, loose poop, sometimes throwing up, aggetated kicking of legs and arms, flu type feeling, all around uncomfortable. Don't go the methadone route. Try Suboxone if it's accessable to you. You can get it through your psych. or dr. It is a miracle drug to kick the habit in 3-4 days, painlessly.

When will withdrawal from heroin use occur and what will be its symptoms?

I was surprised when I've learned that my former classmate has been undergoing an addiction treatment in a center near our place. A common friend said that my classmate got addicted to heroin with withdrawal symptoms that are hardly bearable.

Around 72 hours after the heroin abuse, its painful, dangerous, and even fatal withdrawal symptoms can be felt. Signs may vary from intense muscle pain, abnormal sleeping pattern, substance craving, to vomiting. Although withdrawal from heroin is considered less harmful compared to withdrawal from other barbiturates and alcohol, but the drug still poses greater risk to the user's health. In fact, it is deadly for those addicts with weaker immune system or poorer health condition.

Is it better to undergo anesthesia-assisted heroin detox?

I've only recently learned that there is such a treatment for heroin addiction that involves anesthesia. Does this minimize withdrawal symptoms? Would it be better to undergo this kind of treatment? It's just that a neighbor of mine has been undergoing treatment for heroin, and if this is better, then I would suggest that they go with this kind of method.

No, it's not better. In fact, there is no change between the withdrawal symptoms felt by those who had undergone treatment without anesthesia, and those who had undergone treatment with anesthesia. In fact, some of those who had undergone treatment with anesthesia experienced some complications because of pre-existing medical conditions. There are a lot of risks involved, and there has been no proven advantages regarding the use of anesthesia with heroin detox. Studies have shown that using naltrexone or buprenorphine are even better.

Question regarding HEROIN ADDICTION...?

Someone close to me has tried heroin...I do not anything about drugs because I have led a drug free life my whole life and I am proud of that fact. The thing is that this person confessed that they "booted" heroin on a certain Saturday Morning. They had withdrawl symptoms of dry heaving all day Satuday but after eatting they felt better. Sunday this person felt a little queasy but overall fine. Then I saw this person that following Monday Night and again she was dry heaving that night and complained of not feeling good.

Now I did not know she was "booting" heroin at the time so I had thought she ate something that went bad like a corned beef sandwich [which was her initial story btw] so I was unprepared for this.

What I want to know is this...she told me just recently that she only "booted" the heroin that initial Saturday Morning...and that was the one and only time...but I suspect she "booted" again that Monday Afternoon because of the return symptoms...who is right here ?
She initially told me she took Morphine but I know that Morphine is used to make Heroin and that she was a Heroin addict some years ago. I know I know...this is Heroin...heavy duty stuff...which is why I have my doubts that she only "booted" it up once. Are there any experts or recovering addicts who can please tell me what the HELL is going on here...is she an addict AGAIN...???

Thankx in advance for you help on this one !!!

The time she told me about she was supposed to get out of work two hours earlier and asked me to meet her. Well I waited over an hour for her to get there and found out that she got a ride from a MALE CO-WORKER and they both got their "fix" before he dropped her off to meet me. So I sort of suspect that she may have done some "favors" for him because later that night she woke up and thought I was him and she thought she had cheated on me...so I suspect that she may have or may have and not even have known it...like I said I know nothing about drugs but I know about cheating and I suspect it...am I acting crazy or should I be worried ??? I love this person but I do not want to be dragged into that world...I work too hard to lose everything...!!!

PLEASE SOMEONE HELP !!!

first of all you cannot have withdrawls like that after only 1 time use. most likely ur friend either 1. got a bad dose of heroin or 2. she has been using for awhile and is trying to quit on her own. most heroin addicts never quit, its a life long addiction and the only way they stop is death. its very sad! you can try taking ur friend to AA or a rehab center. but like i said heroin addicts never change, and the ones that say they do are only kidding themselves. i wish i could be of more help but i wish YOU well in trying to deal with ur friend.

What are the withdrawl symptoms from Suboxone?

As I mentioned in an earlier post, I am currently taking Suboxone to help me with the withdrawl symtoms of my heroin addiction. I am ready to stop taking it now after 15 days. Is it too early and what are the symtoms, if any?

They suggest it is MUCH less as trying to get off Methadone, but I haven't seen a whole lot of studies yet that demonstrate that. At any rate, I would taper-off of it as SLOWLY as possible, and be sure that your prescriber is following you every part of the way. You are still going to withdraw -- just like heroin, and it may be very uncomfortable for a while. Just make sure you are going to discuss it with your doctor first!

All the best! Good luck!
