My dad is a marijuana addict, and his addiction is greatly jeopardizing our harmonious family relationship. My family and I are both afraid for my father and for our family’s future.

Can you guys advice me what is best thing to do? I live near Aberdeen, Idaho.

I believe that my sis has become an addict. She uses it everyday...up to 5 times a day. Her whole life seem to now be about it. She is lying to everyone and tell everyone different stories. She feels that everyone is out to get her...and her money. She was going for her Master's and quit going back because she was going through an emotional break up and then started using again. What can I do to help? and where can I get help for her? All she needed was one year for her Master's and she always wanted her PH.d, but she does not remember that now.

It is very admirable that you think this much about your sis. To answer your question there is not doubt that she is addicted and the sad thing about it is that no matter what you try to tell her she will not believe that she has a problem, in her mind she really thinks that you can stop and anytime, but I assure you that without help she can not. I lived this life with my husband for 10 years - I know. Talk to your parents and let them know what is happening - it is not too late for them to make some legal decisions that could force her into a treatment program for the drugs and the emotional problems. Talk to a professional. Good luck and I will say a prayer for the both of you.

in california, do you believe it is possible for a heroin addict to get medical marijuana for the pain of withdrawal symptoms from kicking and getting completely off of heroin. Lets just say, they already are on methadone but are having are hard time detoxing. (please - no stupid answers)

A heroin addict can only receive medical marijuana if that person goes to a rehab. It's very logical too. I mean, would you trust a person who is addicted to heroin that he or she wouldn't just sell it to buy more heroin?

My friend said person who is Marijuana addict won't addict to heroin ( narcotic) .

Contrary to public opinion, Marijuana is not a gateway drug. I've been smoking weed for the last five years and have never got the urge to shoot up heroin. People that i know that have done both said its not even the same high. Marijuana isn't an alternative to heroin or vice versa.

why should you? is he a big part of their lives? if it isn't something that will effect them if they do NOT know, don't tell them. if its obvious and you have to explain his bizzarre or selfish actions in some way just say, that "daddy is sick and he needs help..." which is what addiction is, an illness. he should go to a program or something, though i can say from personal experience that he marijuana is not a dangerous drug and is not addictive as alcohol or cigarettes are.
