The Addiction Help .com

I don't know how recently or exactly who is doing this, but internet "addiction" is being classified as an actual medical problem. I dont know if it already is or if people are just trying to make it so, but i recently heard about it.

What are your thoughts on this?
I personally think that the people calling it a medical problem and the people that will claim to be addicted to the internet are just looking for some way to justify extensive use of the internet. people are looking for mroe and more ways to put blame on something other than themselves for what they do. its rather pathetic.

I don't know that it is a medical problem but I believe it can cause medical problems. Blood clots in your legs for one from sitting for long periods of time, being on here and not getting out to exercise can lead to weight gain which can cause diabetes, heart problems and strain on your joints.

I've been addicted too the internet for the pass 10 years. And everytime my line gets cut or something I go insane..
Yes I'm addicted to that game wow even though I don't enjoy playing it I can't keep it off my mind for too long. Blizzard games are just pure evil!

Try reading a book..find an activity that keeps you active..don't sit down in front of the computer..you can beat this dreaded internet addiction thing if you try.:)

HAHA ya'll are funny and exactly what i expected to hear. I have a job, i look at porn woman more than my woman for some reason. And i will not get rid of my computer its an expensive computer.
I guess i'll just have to keep trying with no real ideas. Back to more porn LOL.

I just read 13 of the dumbest responses to one’s cry for help from an overpowering addiction. I don’t think that between these 13 people that they could help an old lady cross the street.
There is no easy fix for your condition and the fact that you are unable to personally ask for help will only hinder your recovery. This you already know.
I got sucked into the porn world back in 1968 when I found my brother’s Playboy and hated/enjoyed porn for 32 years.
I came across a book that was worth its weight in gold called The Drug of the New Millennium by Mark B. Kastleman. This book will not give you step by step instructions on how to break the habit of porn. What it will do is explain how porn works on the human brain and the real drug that your brain produces when you look at porn. After all knowledge is power and with knowledge you can formulate a plan to overcome your addiction.
Again there is no easy fix for your condition. You most likely will not stop by reading a book, taking someone into your confidence, seeing a counselor, seeing a spiritual leader or talking to God. These are all tools that when used properly will help you overcome your addiction.
It is up to you to fill the tool shed and train yourself on the correct use of the tools that you have collected.
You have a long hard road ahead of you; sometimes those roads are easier to travel when there is someone there to talk to.
Perhaps this will make 14 of the dumbest comments on this blog.
