In this crazy society we live in - giving disability benefits to drug addicts and alchholics - are we NOW going to give money to those who CHOOSE to get "addicted" to the Internet? Where is the PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY?

There's been a general "movement" if you will, where people do not want to accept responsibility for their actions.

People blame everyone else and they sue whomever they can.

It's disturbing that our society will not accept responsibilities for their actions. (GOP and this war is another good example..:) )

The folks on the leaderboard have between approx 100,000 and 700,000 points with between 4700 and 95000 answers. Don't you think that might indicate that these folks actually have a problem - being addicted to the internet or this site? Can you imagine what you could accomplish by spending that much time doing something like - going to college or taking extra classes or studying more?

With so many people using the internet these days and the fact that it can truely be addictive - I wonder if it can pose a problem in peoples lives to the point of being too adicting that they need to seek help -who knows it may already be over the edge for some people - i could see myself getting caught up if i dont watch myself - the longest I've been online at one given time was 12 hours solid - due to my huge thirst for knowledge -As we speak I'm surfing 4 different sites at the same time !! So what do you all think about this - are you an Internet Addict ???
Wow I didn't know there were websites for Addicts -but doesn't that seem like a contradiction??? You dont see gamblers going to the Casino for a gambler annonymos meeting !!!LOL!! I dont think a website is really the answer LOL!!!!

If there isn't then there should be...we had to do an intervention with my fiancee!!! But it didn't really work...but it's too the point where he's going to lose all his RL friends and me. But all of you in America have it pretty good, I'm living in China and I swear that 90% of young people under 30 spend AT LEAST 10hrs a day at the Internet cafe. The Internet cafes are open 24/7 and are usually between 50 and 1,000 computers per cafe...and they are all packed by 4pm

Ideally it will stop access to ALL web sites you can browse upon between certain times or until I override it. Things must still be allowed to download in the background though.

Why? Too many people in my family seem to be Internet addicts these days and I want to limit it.
