What can I do to make this man understand that it is an addiction or am I over reacting and it should be ok for him to be out every night till 2 or 3 am playing cards.
Yes every single night.
I have given up arguing.
Need advice.
First of all you have to look at how much he is losing and winning a week... If at week ends he is losing over 100 dollars and he cannot afford it... you need to tell him to STOP!
Now if he's actually just breaking even and losing maybe 50 dollars a week, then let him do it... If you don't mind him going every night... which I would be extremely pissed if I was a girl that every night my man (even if your married) is going out and playing cards. I'm not trying to tell you how to live your life... but when I was younger I use to tell my girlfriend I was going out to play POKER with the guys... In reality I was playing "poke her" just not with no guys... I'm not trying to put thoughts in your head your man is cheating. Maybe he really is playing poker... But if he really is don't you think he would be playing at a casino if he had a real addiction and not just a 100 bucks a night or less?
Good Luck! Tell him more time with you.. or kick him to the curb.
It is main movie scene where Dan Mahowny (Philip Seymour Hoffman) arriving to Atlantic City in big-style (private-jet, Full VIP admission) and ...
and I need to cover these 4 things..
1. gambling can be an addiction
2. casino gambling draws thousands of customers each year
3. casino gambling is dependent on customers who will loose there money
4. the locations of casinos increase crime rates
and then im supposed to put all of that info together into a paragraph to prove that "the U.S. will no longer legalize casino gambling"
relax urs is good soo far good topic!LOL
Hi, my boyfriend has a servere gambling addiction. He has tried going to GA meetings, but they really arent for him and havent helped because he works away lots so he cant attend every meeting. I would like to know if it is possible to go to a casino and ask to have yourself banned. He wants to do this, just wants to see if he can do it before he does.
Yes, it is him that wants to go there and do that. He does not want to go back so that would be fine. Thanks everyone.
Yes he can impose a self-exclusion on himself, he will need to fill out some forms, which are legal documents. I am a dealer at a casino and this is the case were i work it might be different at other casinos but i doubt it and they are very quick to notice if someone is excluded. If they are not caught by security at the door, which quite often they are, they are picked up by surveillance. I had a gentlemen sit down at my table and before i had finish my first hand of blackjack to him there was 3 security guards behind him to escort him out, even though he lost on that hand we have to give him back the amount that he cashed in for, not entitled to any winning or losses..
I am a compulsive gambler addicted to casino poker machines for more than 13 years now. Consequently, my husband and my children left me. I had been living in a dormitory trying to find work but always I end up going back to the casino to gamble in a few minutes what took me a month to earn. Wanting to recover the millions of pesos I lost in gambling, I tried to chase my losses by playing bigger and bigger. I embezzelled company funds by erasing checks and writing pay to cash so I can encash them, I borrowed from bank using fictitious name, I defrauded many people, I stole money and things from laptop, cellphone to jewelries, I got jewelries from a store on consignment and issued unfunded checks for them and then pawned them so I can have gambling money. Now I want to die from shame, guilt and fear of being put to jail. I am held back by my fear of hell. But sometimes I think that hell is just a fiction so I might succeed in getting done my suicidal thoughts one of these days.
