I have just had news that one of our old CE regs is now bankrupt due to a gambling habit.
This is on top of having an accident that fractured her skull. Some people have terrible luck dont they?
Hope you get sorted Freethinker.
Gambling is for losers......One has to be a sad dreamer to believe that one can beat the system....I have no sympathy for gamblers or drug users or drunks.....
Can you lend me a tenner? i'm dying for a drink, gambling is thirsty work!.
There is no one hundred percent consensus on what causes it, but we can draw some very powerful generalities here that seem to go across everybody ...
Please feel free to answer as you will....inclusive houses, Moon Sign, Rising, Merc, Venus etc. ~
Thanks in Advance

Gambling definitely comes under Sagittarius and a low - evolved Jupiterian type. These person often resort to alcohol also, especially if the sign is rising and aspets involving Moon & Mars.
Capricorn can really exaggerate in the booze department as well.
I don't know about the porn part but , to be addicted to gambling, Sagittarius , Aquarius, love to gamble. As for the house, speculation falls under the 5th house ruling.
Note that a badly placed or afflicting Neptune, prominent, definitely adds to addiction and alcoholism.
I find it hard to understand what I should do for this person to help or advise them to do, as they go to GA but for how long?Forever? Won't talk about their feelings, the person has a trust deed in place now, and finally trying to clear all their accrued debts, dealing with a person who wont listen to reason is frustrating for a non compulsive like me to deal with .Help!? TY
I really doubt anything can change whatever it is that makes someone more susceptible to a certain addiction. That person you spoke of will have a susceptibility to gambling for the rest of his/her life. That doesn't mean they will gamble. It just means they are more susceptible to become addicted to gambling.
That person needs to just accept they have this high susceptibility and thus work extra hard to stay away from gambling opportunities. That may mean eliminating certain family and friends from his/her life.
Until they accept this high susceptibility and are working on eliminating compulsive opportunities, STAY THE HECK AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE. No matter how nice they were before, when they are in 'using' mode, they are a danger to anyone around them.
Anyway, there is no cure from high susceptibility. However, that doesn't mean the person has to give in to it. We all live with mild susceptibilities, folks with high susceptibility just have to work harder.
I like to play video lottery terminals , I know you can't win in the long run. But I find it to be fun most of the time, But I know it is a waste of time and money , and find myself returning and wasting time and money . Not to the point of obsessive , as it does not interfere with work , and I pay all my bills .
Hmmmm . . . . now that you KNOW it's a waste of time and money, maybe you should find some more activities to use up your time besides work.
Maybe you can try a hobby or volunteering or even reading books to fill in the time so that you can avoid your, er, almost-obsession.
I'm asking as i've lost my boyfriend of 10 years to gambling and just wanted to know if theres anyway to help him.
Well ive been addicted to three out of the four including gambling and I can honestly say that it is much much harder to quit gambling than anything else.
the other three actually affect you and other people notice this about you:
Smoke = Smell
Beer = Your Pissed!
Drugs = Your Stoned
Where-as you can gamble and no-one could ever be the wiser.
