I would like to be connecting with other women in recovery.Im seeking a soulmate and am in long term recovery myself.
Overeaters annonymous would be a place to start. Most of the women in it will be straight, but all will be recovering. You could go the other way, join the metropolitan community church, which would put you in a pool of lesbians, then look for a 12-stepper.
If you were addicted to dancing instead of food, you'd have a shorter road. Dancers Annonymous is a Texas group; it is a two-step program.
quot;Comfort Foodsquot; can offer a temporary relief from the stress of life, just like alcohol and drugs. Watch as I tell a beautiful success ...
I have struggle with a food addiction in the form of binge eating and bulemia for years. i attend a twelve step program and an out patient program. I work f/t b/c i like what i do and need the income right now. it is causing me a lot of stress and i feel as though i am white knuckling my abstinence at work. any advice?
Well I say take to time to wind down when you get home relax or make quite time for yourself. If you feel you need to eat try to chew sugar free gum .
From Alcohol, tough going but worth it. I have noticed I have excess hunger and constantly want food, is this normal?
Any advice, much appreciated?
Congratulations - you made a great decision! Just remember that its always worth it, even when it feels like its not.
My addiction was to Ativan. Its a tranquilizer. When I finally got off it, and started to recover from the addiction, I noticed a lot of things changed. I wanted to eat too, and I wanted to be outside, and I wanted to do more things. Your body is probably saying "HEY, where is all that sugar you were giving me when you were drinking?" and so it wants food. Did you used to eat when you drank? I never ate when I was on Ativan. So when your body is able to 'wake up' from all that, it craves what you haven't been giving it!
If you stick to lean protein and keep the carbs down, you can get through this with no adverse effects (weigh gain if that is what you are worried about). Just keep up the good work! You are doing great!

I am using blogger.com for my blogs and it is time to add meta tags. I tried the below and I kept getting a message from blogger that the changes to the template could not be saved because they were not parsed correctly. What does parsed mean? What is wrong with this code? Can you give me directions on how to correct the code so blogger.com will accept it?

Will the pain of a recovery market cause Rush to have a relapse? Opiates are a very hard addiction to break, whether you have a broken personal life with multiple divorces, or a severe addiction to food. Rush wanted Obama's plan to fail so bad, yet the damn market is proving him wrong. Will Rush be able to handle the pain?
He will find some way to give bush credit.*

bFood Addiction Recovery/b - #36
Food addicts will experience compulsive overeating almost certainly if they even start eating their binge foods at least in the early stages of recovery. Binge foods are foods that when you buy or eat them you are unlikely to stop until they are all gone and/or will consume them all in a very short time. They’re not necessarily “bad for you” foods—just the ones that you cannot stop yourself from eating. For me, examples are ice cream, cookies, candy, potato chips, fried foods, peanut butter, raisins, fruit juice, dried fruits, and more. Now you can see not all of those are necessarily unhealthy foods. Once you have made your list, decide which ones you will no longer eat for the rest of your life or at least until you are well into middle or even late food addiction recovery. Now once you have the list you are in the same position as the alcoholic in the sense the first and only rule you have to remember as well as act on is “just don’t pick up” or if you don’t touch it...

First, it burns calories. Take walking, which burns 325 calories per hour if you walk at a pace of 4 miles per hour. Maybe dancing is for you at 395 calories per hour. Aerobics burns 505 calories per hour (high impact style that is). Bicycling burns 720 calories per hour if you average 15 miles per hour. Running is also at 720 calories per hour, however, that is if you run at a speed of 10 miles per hour (not likely I would say). Second, exercise raises your metabolic rate, allowing you to burn calories more efficiently. Many experts believe you burn calories at a faster rate for several hours after vigorous exercise that is a good thing in food addiction recovery or not. In addition, exercise increases lean muscle mass, and muscle burns calories even when you are just sitting around. You will probably find you sleep better and have more energy throughout the day. It also builds up your bone mass, which is particularly important if you are a person at risk for osteoporosis. Third, there...
