quot;Comfort Foodsquot; can offer a temporary relief from the stress of life, just like alcohol and drugs. Watch as I tell a beautiful success ...
I just want to stop thinking about food! Its my most dominate thought :(
Get some hobbies. Start collecting things, practice singing, painting, etc. Then, whenever you feel hungry or start to think about food, change your mind and start thinking about the type of thing you would like to add to your collection next (i.e. if you decide to collect StarWars videos, think about which one you're going to buy next, where you're going to buy it, etc.).
Good luck!
can this also cause problems during recovery, because even if you stop trhowing up or spitting out food, you end up eating too much? (please pay special attention to spit in chdw, which is my main focus)
They can binge eat. I have major weight issues, where I'll fast for weeks at a time and then binge on food for an entire week, gaining nearly 10 pounds. It's an awful cycle, but I've learned to accept it.
If you recover, I'm sure a counselor can help you deal with the situations more properly. The more you talk to them, the more they can decide what's the best method for you. It all comes down to your own self control, really. It's not easy at all, though.
I am using blogger.com for my blogs and it is time to add meta tags. I tried the below and I kept getting a message from blogger that the changes to the template could not be saved because they were not parsed correctly. What does parsed mean? What is wrong with this code? Can you give me directions on how to correct the code so blogger.com will accept it?

is it better to eat a healthy diet and splurge 1x a week on a fast food meal, or completely avoid it? I don't want a small spluge to turn into a bad cycle all over again.
I know it's very hard for a smoker or a drinker in recovery to have "just one." Is it the same for food?
Not a splurge but a binge is bad.. one fast food isn't going to throw you off unless you let it. When you eat healthier the fast food makes you sick to your stomach anyways. Its better for you to try and find out its not good tasting anymore then to crave it.

First, it burns calories. Take walking, which burns 325 calories per hour if you walk at a pace of 4 miles per hour. Maybe dancing is for you at 395 calories per hour. Aerobics burns 505 calories per hour (high impact style that is). Bicycling burns 720 calories per hour if you average 15 miles per hour. Running is also at 720 calories per hour, however, that is if you run at a speed of 10 miles per hour (not likely I would say). Second, exercise raises your metabolic rate, allowing you to burn calories more efficiently. Many experts believe you burn calories at a faster rate for several hours after vigorous exercise that is a good thing in food addiction recovery or not. In addition, exercise increases lean muscle mass, and muscle burns calories even when you are just sitting around. You will probably find you sleep better and have more energy throughout the day. It also builds up your bone mass, which is particularly important if you are a person at risk for osteoporosis. Third, there...

. Examples are two slices of bread per day, one piece of pie per week, one scoop of ice cream per week, one pat of butter per day, etc. Sometimes you can set it by the portion size. For example, I have a thing for raisins. I can’t buy them in the big box since that size would be gone in no time. I can buy them in the small 1.5 oz boxes and allow myself one box per day. These modified binge foods are okay to eat you can stick to the limits you set for yourself. If you cannot stick to your limits, the food must be moved to the binge food list, never to be eaten again. Therefore, if I can stay with one box of raisins per day in the 1.5 oz size then I can keep eating them. If not then on the binge food list the raisins go! Another example from my life is popcorn. I only buy the 100-calorie size popcorn and only have one bag – per meal since sometimes; I might crave it twice per day. So what is the downside to this approach? Not much that I can tell. One I notice is if I have these modified binge foods in the house they sometimes “call to me” as folks use to say in the old days.
