I have a bad addiction to online poker, I eat foods that are horrible for me. What's wrong?

Even though I know I will lose, I gamble thousands of dollars online. Even though I know i'm playing bad, I can't control what I do. Time after time.

Even though I know certain foods will make me have a bad allergic reaction, I still am a glutton and eat them every now and then. Sometimes I eat lots. I know this is bad but I can't stop myself.

Is there a character trait to describe this, a condition, or something??

you sound like you have some kind of addiction and self-descipline/control issues. But if you think it boils down from something more serious psychological conditon, you might want to consider seeing a psychologist for more appropriate and timely treatment.

Will a fast help me get rid of my food addiction?

I think I'm a food addict. Im not obese, but I do need to lose weight, about 30 pounds, and I honestly have no self control when it comes to eating. I'll start a diet out strong, but if I get just one taste of anything I like, even healthy foods like whole grain bread or rice, or even soup, I just can't stop eating. I can control myself if I dont eat at all. I know this because sometimes i dont eat for a day or so because i feel guilty about what I ate before. I read online that fasting can help get rid of all kinds of addictions, so I figure that if I can fast for,7-10 days, I will realize I dont need food that bad and I will stop binging. Will this stop my addiction, or do you think this will just backfire and cause me to binge more?

A fast will 99.99% back fire on you. The way to lose weight is to eat often, and eat small amounts( rule of thumb, eat meals no larger than your fist). It dose'nt sound like your addicted, but you havent learned self control, its ok though. Let people you see every day know that you want to lose weight and ask for their help, this will help keep you strong. You need to feel confident in yourself that you can do it, dont beat yourself up, this causes stress and stress will make you eat more. You need to be mentally prepaired to make it work, find what ever motivates you and use that to help you. Try doing cardio work outs and streaching, your body will feel different because its changing, let this motivate you. Exercise atleast 3 times a week but its better to exercise every morning. Wake up, drink a little bit of water, eat a hard boiled egg or some form of protein, work out, streach, and do what ever else you do in your day. If you have a craving for something, then eat a small amount of it. A good trick is to drink a large glass of water before you eat it, especially hot water because this enlarges your large intestine so you feel fuller (do this first before you binge also but the point of all im typing is so you dont binge any more!!). When you feel full, STOP EATING! Eat small meals 6 or 8 times a day, this lets your body know food is readily avaliable so it wont need to store unwanted calories. Eat high fiber foods, your body uses more calories to digest it( apples, grapefruit, aspargas, look more up online) learn to aquire a taste for healthy foods. If you go out to eat or eat a large meal, eat the fruit and veggie side dishes first. Try to form a routine and reduce your stress. Make lifestyle changes, feel better about yourself. I hope this helps you.

Addiction Dehydrated Raw Pet Food?

If you read my last question, I am looking for a dog food that has a higher fiber content (currently dogs are on Canidae). I have been looking online, and finally found one that is higher, but I have not heard of it before -- it is Addiction Dehydrated Raw Food. Has anyone had experience with this?

Addiction Dry Food was rated top dry food by the Whole Dog Journal (according to their website), but the dry food doesn't have enough fiber. The only thing that I am unsure about is the protein content (20%). Any opinions/experiences???
ADDED: I am looking for a food with more fiber because I would prefer not having to cook every night for them... canned pumpkin did not work, prescription diet (high fiber) from vet for treatment of diareah worked wonders.
ADDED: They have loose stools on all foods besides that high fiber one (they cannot eat it on a regular basis though)... have them on canidae, have had them on innova...

20% is a really good protein content.

Puppies only need in the high 20's and adult dogs dont need more than 18% protein.

Most foods actually contain too much protein, as high as 40% in many high quality foods, that level is almost what working dogs need. Heck, sled dogs are only suppose to have a 50% protein content and look at the work they do!
