Addiction to drugs and booze can do many things. One is weight loss, kidney or liver damage as well as damage to many other organs, you'll see a change in the persons hair, it becomes dull and limp, you'll see tremors of the hands, the whites of the eyes can be not only blood shot but turn yellow as the organs start to fail. Many slouch in their posture and it becomes fairly permanent. They can develop tics and twitches as nerves are involved with the addiction. The persons mental state continues to Decline as the addiction progresses. Most loose interest in foods or become obsessive about one food groups in the belief that it will help stop some of the damage they are doing to their body.
I certainly hope you are not seeing any of the signs in a loved one or in yourself. If you do please get help for them or you.
Life is to good to let anything have control over you, it has it's up and downs, but after a down you really enjoy the ups.
This is Not a question of whether it is or it is not.
Remember the first singe of addiction is DENIAL.
religion in my opinion.
you can choose whether you get caught up in drugs or alcohol, its entirely your choice, but it's pretty much like signing a death warrant.
religion is hypocritical, unfair, manipulating, prejudiced, homophobic and you can be bought into believing it,sometimes some people may preach their religion to you so much it goes into your head, and you follow.
i'd say religion has to be the 2nd or 3rd source of the most deaths in the world.
1.old age
2.disease or religion.
3.disease or religion.
their have been a colossal amount of wars in history (about religion) that have resulted in millions/billions (not quite sure of the figure) of people dying, but then, when you think about it,most religions come across as been loving and kind, but as soon as they might lose power or something like that it somehow disappears from their mind and all they care about is regaining it back, and it wouldn't matter how many lifes it takes.
this is just an opinion, but choose for yourself.
some people find religion as something to hold onto, and they have alot of faith and hope, in a way im jealous of that, sense some atheists don't have that sense of faith or hope and almost nothing to hold onto.
but we find it in other things.

Here is Alcoholism: (Part/Poem 1 of 2)
"For your own life's sake, do not be an "alcohol user".
Any person that likes likes to drink beer, whiskey et cetera is an "alcoholic boozer"!
Do not be an alcohol abuser.
To be more precise, you should be an "alcohol refuser!"
For drinking alcohol is a "mind and body abuser"!
Addictive drinking is a "mind and body bruiser"!
And then if you have cirrhosis of the liver which is a life-loser!
To people that almost drink liquor,
they will most likely be in their graves, that much quicker!
People, the police or sheriff catch driving drunk, are took to jail!
Then they will be put in a cell!
To all drunkards, this is a "cemented hell!
Trying to stop drinking has very much strife!
If you started to drink & decided to stop, you get a longer life!
If you lose your mind,
then you are unable to be kind.
If you drink, just to get drunk,
then your breath definately stinks worse than the spray of a skunk!
You did not think that you would later have costly medical fees!
If you wind up having cancer,
who else can yoe blame? What is your answer?!
Drinking, Drug abuse & Smoking, each is a "temptation"!
And the first time any of the three is done, it may feel like a "sensation"!
This may or may not sound funny,
drinkers, smokers and drug abusers are carelessly using their money!
While they are losing their wealth,
more importantly, they are also losing their health!
Part/Poem 2 of 2: Drug Abuse!
If you take a pill,
at your own free will, just for a"thrill".
When you run out, how will you feel?!
This originated from a drug-pusher, saying "Let's make a deal!"
Drug-pushers lead numerous victims, to their kill!
Then, most victim's bodies are buried "six feet under a hill!"
Being a "dope-atic"
can permanently "put your body six feet below the attic!"
Most drug abusers bodies are are put in a tomb,
not many years "after coming out of their mother's womb"!
If you are addicted to dope.
It might, can or will "put you at the end of your rope"!
If so, you apparently did not think of how family member could or would cope!
Additional note: if you are addicted to dope,
you are most likely sooner than predicted, "Out Of Hope!"
In other words; avoid this downhill slope!
If you wind up having a heart disease,
you did not to think to realise, that you would have costly medical fees!
If you wind up having brain cancer,
who else can you blame? What is your answer?!
Drug Abuse, Alcoholism and smoking, each one is a "temptation"!
The first time any of the three is done, "it may feel like a sensation".
This may or may not sound funny.
Drug abusers, alchoholics & smokers are carelessly using their money.
While they are losing their wealth,
more importantly, they are also losing their health!
if you and your spouse never cheated on each other, have not filed for divorce, no addiction to drugs or alcohol, no physical or emotional abuse, no kids, both have no interest in other people, but married life is not what you expected it to be, we are married for 2 years now, how did you both know that your marriage was over and it was time to end it, when is love just not enough?
Marriage is a life partnership. Remember your vows.....in good times and in bad....richer or poorer...sickness and in health......... It's called BEING THERE. If you are there for one another and you love each other.... this is marriage.
Blame fairytales, romantic movies, media, whatever ..... real marriage is not like that.
However, like any relationship, marriage is work. People argue all the time and say "it shouldn't be this much work." I argue the opposite. If you want to be together, you put in the marriage what you want out of it. When it's not a two-way street and reciprocal, then you have other issues.
Do you share hobbies, like interests? Do you have core family and ethical values? What do you do for fun? You need to look at that.
Instead of looking at each other as some burden or roommate, look at the basic foundation of the relationship, which should be a friendship. Do you do things with your friend? Go places? Work on projects? Share dreams? Laugh? Do you solve problems together? Watch games? Go for walks? ETC.?
I'm not saying it has to be 'romantic' all the time, but doing basic things together, spending time together (quality time), is key. Liking each other, not just loving each other is part of the equation.
Love is a gift. If you two share that, your marriage is not over. If you need spark or excitement in your relationship, that's up to you to decide and execute. But bottom-line, if you have love and good communication, the marriage has a good base. Now it's just time to make your life partnership fun and exciting.
You have the best thing - loyalty, faithfulness, love and trust. That's a heck of a lot more than most people have. Build on it! :) Good luck!

How to Pay for bDrug/b or bAlcohol/b Treatment
If you are dependent on alcohol or drugs and want to enter treatment, you may be understandably concerned about the cost of such programs. In fact, addiction treatment can be quite costly, depending on the severity and duration of the substance being abused by the person seeking to quit. How can you figure out how to pay for drug and alcohol treatment?
Research Treatment Options
The first step in the process should be to locate the right treatment facility to meet your needs. Whether that is an inpatient hospital or residential treatment center specializing in addiction treatment, or outpatient treatment, determine which treatment facility can best address your particular situation.
The second step is to contact each of the treatment providers on your list and ask a series of questions. You may also wish to visit the ones you’re really interested in to see first hand how they operate, and to get a better sense of the kind of care you will be receiving at the facility. Ask for literature and all costs associated with the treatment, and various treatment options each may offer. Some residential treatment facilities, for example, offer outpatient treatment, aftercare treatment and other services.
...Bob Marley – Love, Sex and Marijuana - Help bDrug/b Abuse
We all have seen the scenes from the King of Reggae with his ever present ‘co-star’ in many of his interviews. In one of his famous moments he calmly turns and says ”Herb is the healing of a nation, alcohol is the destruction.”
Many years have passed since Bob Marley said these words and high levels of addiction to pot along with the many health dangers that it poses have proven that by no means will herb be ”the healing of a nation.” One thing he did say correctly and thousands of drug and alcohol rehabs are evidence of this is the fact that ” alcohol is the destruction.”It should not be taken for granted that not just alcohol can destroy one, but any drug, habit and tendency that compromises a human being of clear reasoning and stability of self.
The use of pot usually begins in teenage years, with teenagers trying to be a part of a group to identify themselves with some popular trend. As they evolve, many step into the light of maturity and shed certain behavioral patterns, but in many instances take the use of pot into their adult life. The result of this have been higher statistics in drug rehabs of addicts trying to overcome their addiction to marijuana and the chain effect of this has been more broken homes, dysfunctional human beings and utter sadness.
