My brother in Ardmore, Pennsylvania, is an alcoholic. How do I find addiction treatment centers for him?
THESE DEMONS (Part One)

I have just recently talked to my brother, who happens to be in Pennsylvania. I have learned that he is now an alcoholic, and he started drinking when his wife left him. I didn't even know that they're separated already, and have been for months now. I was really surprised to hear about this. It has been really hard for my brother. He's asking for my help on how he can get himself treated for his addiction, and I want to find an addiction treatment center for him. How will I get to do this?

It's pretty easy to find alcohol rehabs. The links below can help you in your search. You can also ask your brother to go to a doctor to have himself checked up. That way, the doctor can give him recommendations as to which alcohol rehabs he can get himself treated. I really hope your brother gets well soon. Things must be really tough for him. Just continue on being there for him. Your support and encouragement would really matter much.

Can a alcoholic keep his addiction under control or eventually loose it all?
HELP ME MAKE IT THROUGH THE DAY

What I mean by this question is can a person who claims they are not a drunk be a casual drinker and stay that way, or eventually turn into a total drunk and drive everyone crazy and go down the tubes themselves?

Alcoholism is easy to control, it's a NUTRITIONAL DEFICIENCY! NOT A BEHAVIORAL PROBLEM. This was proven by Roger Williams in the 1950's

Here's the key.

Alcoholics need certain vitamins and minerals more than the average person walking the street.

Just to test my theory I sent my cousin the vitamins after he got a dui.

He blew a 2.22.

Raging alcoholic.

After 2 weeks his craving for alcohol disappeared.

Of course he attributed it to him "making up his mind" to not drink anymore.

Funny, but after he stopped taking the vitamins he is right back to drinking. I guess making up your mind really doesn't work.

Some people never learn.

Here are the vitamins that got my cousing to stop drinking after 20 years on the bottle.

L-Glutamine TWO GRAMS PER DAY
L-Carnitine ONE GRAM PER DAY
and a good multi-vitamin.

Good luck.

Should a person who has a problem with addiction ex. alcoholic, really suffer the rest of thier life w/ felony?
Cigar on Drink

I have two dui's in a five year period and now have a felony as a result; thus unable to own firearm now or acquire an opportunity to get a decent job.

you know i was thinkin the same today you know when tha crazy man killing 14 people . criminals should be given in society. a second chance as being a good citizen maybe if they were they would think twice for the mistakes. nobodys perfect even people as ceo the white house make mistakes. everyone should be given oppurtunities to change thier lives that why jail and prisons are full because these people are treated unfairly. it really sucks. no body is born perfect evryone has flaws. trying to find a good job maybe you can explain to them how sorry you are for your action if your not hired dont feel bad you would have to work for someone thats just ignorant. ther dont even want to give goverment help such as food stamps. cash aid housing nothing.but they have some of thier own people breaking the law such as drugs in america all that security and thier still drugs in the US. im question things are suppose to be tough at the border but theres still kids her on street corner selling drug.maybe if ther wasnt they be out of a job.ther is still some down to earth people left in this world good luck

  • bAddiction/b and Codependency, the Roman Mythology Version

I don't believe for a minute that alcoholism is a disease. NO WAY! that's just a poor excuse for being narcissistic. if they would just for one moment, give of themselves to others, not other alcoholics, but others, like family members and friends who have always been there for them they wouldn't need to drink. but by being an alcoholic, everyone in their lives is constantly focusing on them and their NEEDS.

No doubt the commenter has been hurt, so this by no means should be considered an attack- just a clarification. First of all, being a narcissist involves the personality trait of self love… there is only one thing an alcoholic loves. In fact, with most practicing alcoholics the opposite is true with self-loathing being the order of the day because of the lengths one will go to in order to drink regardless of the embarrassment and debasement usually entailed.

Now I know she isn’t using it in the classical sense, but Ovid’s Narcissus and Echo … seriously, this might as well be the Roman version of a PSA for addiction and codependency. Pretty boy Narcissus gallivants through the forest without a care in the world until he literally loses himself in a drink, while the pining Echo becomes so engrossed with the target of her affection that she basically ceases to exist. Sound familiar?
