Where can I find a list of reports, surveys or statistics about alcohol and drug addiction?

I'm looking for more sources about alcohol and drug addiction because I'm finishing my homework. I really love the topic and I really want to present a nice report. I'm not doing this just for the grade but I'm also doing this as a way of spreading awareness so that my classmates will not turn out to be alcoholics and drug addicts.

What a nice student! I really admire your desire of spreading social awareness. I've posted two links below to help you with your report. Try to do a good job, okay? Be a role model to your classmates. Keep it up!

What is the Holistic Approach to Drug and Alcohol Addiction Treatment and Recovery?

I heard some kids in school talking about a holistic approach in relation to drug and alcohol addiction. Does anybody know more about it? I'm just interested.

I think it's a special program given to people who are suffering from alcoholism and drug addiction. They provide treatment and services to help the patient recover faster. There's a website about the Holistic Approach. I added the link below. It's really informative.

How do I quit alcohol and drug addiction?

My future is at stake here. I am a college junior majoring in biochemistry with a 4.0 GPA... this semester I got in deep with drugs and alcohol and now my grades are beginning to suffer... drugs and alcohol have taken over my life. I so addicted. I am losing friends left and right and my professors are wondering what the hell is happening to me. I am afraid if I don't change my ways soon, not only will my GPA fall, but I might also die. My addictions are scaring the heck out of me. please help. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

put your self in a valentary rehad center. don't try to quick cold turkey with out help. it will cause more trouble then what you are already in. I won't lie quitting an addiction is painful and very hard but it can be done. I was only addicted to pain killers and I had muscle aches and was quessy all the time it was horrible but now I've been doing good with out them since november. it's much better with out them I still have days that I really with I had some but I burned all bridges with my connections so I don't even have a source and it makes it a lot harder to get anything. eventually the feeling passes and go go on as normal.

Why does it take so long for an individual to recover from drug or alcohol addiction?

It's so easy and fast for them to get addicted and yet it takes such a long time to get over the attachment to the drug/alcohol. Why is this so?

Addiction recovery happens to be a process that may take a lifetime. This is due to the fact that drug or alcohol addiction is a chronic illness. Recovery does not stop with a drug or alcohol rehabilitation program. That is only the start of it. Once the person comes back to the outside world, he will once again be faced with a lot of temptations that he will have to keep struggling against. Certain measures must be taken so that the individual won't get addicted again. It takes a lot of discipline and willpower. Having a network of support will be very helpful too.
