Please guys if you have any idea do share..I need to know how good is Muktangan de-addiction centre in Pune. What percentage(roughly) of people who get admitted there are able to get rid of their alcohol addiction.I need to know this for the treatment of my uncle who is an alcoholic.Would reallly appreciate your help!!
Thank you so much in advance.
"De-addiction" might a word one might apply to drugs. But alcohol is not a drug and alcoholism is not an addiction. (Even though there are hundreds of PAID "Addictions" professionals who want us to believe so)
Alcoholism is a mental obsession - a form of insanity, combined with a physical allergy which causes uncontrollable craving Nothing more - nothing less.
If it were simply an addiction - the problem would be solved once a good seventy-two hour withdrawal from the alcohol had passed.
There is no known cure for the physical allergy that causes craving once alcohol enter the body, but full recovery from the mental obsession is possible - thereby breaking the terrible cycle and solving the problem - through spiritual awakening as the result of the Twelve Steps or some other such spiritual solution.
It is only through spiritual methods that the obsession has ever been removed . In other words, divine intervention.
You don't have to go to Pune, Minnesota or NYC and let people take your money for that. There is no solve through any known human aid. Only folks selling "services" who want you to think so. Sorry.
The good news is that recovered alcoholics - people like me - help other alcoholics recover and expect NOTHING in return. And our method works where all others have failed.
Peace,
Danny S

My dad is addicted to alcohol badly, he comes home and drinks whiskey every night! I'm sick of it. I know it's not healthy, and i'd like to see him live to an old age. At this rate, he probably won't make it. So, i'm going to help him stop, weather he likes it or not. I need two things. One steps, and/or a website to steps that need to be taken to stop. I also need a list of aftereffects of drinking to much, so i can tell him how bad it is. Thanx a lot for your help. I really appreciate it.
Yes, all good answers; problem is u cant make them STOP. They have to want that on there own /or they hit rock bottom,, and being that alcoholism is a disease, like other diseases, its not that clear cut and simple. Alot of it may depend on your dads age/and help from all the family too. You can follow up w/resources thou, and also make sure that u get the help for yourself, so that u can deal w/all this in the years to come, w/out it destroying u. Most important thing thou is to never give up on him/never stop loving him cause he is your Dad, and important to let him know that. My father drank all his life, which in itself wasnt very pleasant to him (so I could see how he ended up like that); we all went thru alot w/him and it took 40 something years, loss of everything including his family, totally blinded by cataracts for 3years while being exploited by a caregiver (again , in his absence we had no idea), and then finally someone made a call to the state and they stepped in. My Dad is under our guardianship now, and is doing well. He was left w/some physical problems and heavy duty dementia, but he's ok. He's been in a controlled environment for almost 2 years now, so of course hasnt been able to drink. Every once in a while he says something about needing a drink, but thing is he cant in his controlled environment. So the need never left his head even thou the physical detox part of it is long gone. Its part of the disease. So everyones story is different and I hope for anyone ever experiencing this, that it doesnt have to get to that "rock bottom" part of it. Wish u luck w/this, stay strong, and remember to always let him know u love him; in the end , that alone is much better than feelin the guilt of NOT lettin him know that.

We're really low on cash at the moment, and I want to get my daughter treated for her alcohol addiction. I know this costs much, so does anybody know of an addiction treatment center that does not charge high rates? Any other suggestions would be highly appreciated.
You can probably try to get a grant from the government. You can also check out the links I have included below, they might be able to help you out. Just don't lose hope and inquire into as many centers as you can. Good luck to you and your daughter.
What is the rate of alcoholism in the USA compared to other countries in the world. I don't mean amount of alcohol consumed, but alcohol addiction/dependency. Links to your sources would be appreciated. Cheers! (pun intended)
Pretty bad here in America, maybe worse in England and Ireland. The Scottish drink whiskey straight so that's not good. Then you have stereotypical, yet true problems among Native Americans with alcoholism. The average Native American on a reservation has a life expectancy of 48.
Now lets turn to Mexico, they have an even worse problem.
Which of the following drugs has the worst addiction potential in terms of severity of cravings, pain & suffering of withdrawl, and lowest "complete" recovery rates?
- Alcohol
- Heroin
- Cocaine
- Methamphetamine
- Crack Cocaine
I've heard from a fifteen year old heroin addict that heroin is a drug that if you've done it once, you've done it more than once.
Alcohol addiction can be extremely serious. Many everyday people have lost jobs, family, friends, and loved ones because they could not break thier alcohol habit. I suggest you find some help. I found a site that has addiction information and a list of addiction treatment clinics so you can help. http://www.addictionselfhelp.com

TEEBOB: How Long Does bAlcohol/b Stay in Your System
The effects of alcohol intoxication are known to most of us. While certain levels of alcohol in the system are accompanied by slurred speech and trouble walking, with an over consumption of alcohol there are usually much deadlier consequences. Basically alcohol is a system suppressor which impairs judgment, coordination, vision and reaction time and increases drowsiness. With the cases of intoxicated driving on the rise and the authorities getting stricter by the day, most of us are wondering as to how long does alcohols stay in your system, so that it does not show up in an alcohol test. Well for understanding that, we would first need to take a look at what exactly is the blood alcohol content and how it differs from person to person. Blood alcohol concentration (BAC) or the blood alcohol content is the measure of the alcohol concentration in your bloodstream. It is usually measured in percentage terms, so that, when a person has eight parts alcohol per 10,000 parts blood in the body...
