Looking for rehab for drug or alcohol addiction in Los Angles, and a wedding chapel in Las Vegas (cheesier the better, near greyhound station the best)!

There are tons of rehab programs in the LA area. What you really need to do is fine one that fits you. Each one offers a unique program. Are you looking for Inpatient/Day/Outpatient? This really can make a difference on which one you choose. Here are some websites to help you:

When picking a place it does matter what you are seeking treatment for. Programs do speacilze in certain things such as cocaine addiction ect...You will want to find a place that meets the needs of your addiction. Also do you/other person have insurance?? Before you go anywhere you need to find out what your insurance will cover and how to get that covered. I use to do mental health benefits and people ended up paying a lot of money because they did not call the insurance first.....I know stupid but true. If you are on a state or federal insurance policy check with them, most of the time they have a few certain places that they will let you go. If you do not have any of the above, contact the rehabs and speak with someone. They will be able to help you find an assistance program. Call before you go to any of the rehabs, if they are full they will not take you so make sure they have room before you go!

yesterday two of my friends were over and we were on this girl christina's myspace, and she had a picture of this girl smoking on it. and martha (one of the girls that were at my house) was like 'does christina smoke?' and i was like i dunno, but she drinks alcohol! i said that because she had a picture on her myspace of a pack of wine coolers and under it it said 'wine coolers, my addiction' or something. and martha was like 'haha they're only wine coolers'. and the conversation pretty much stopped there. but what did she mean by 'they're only wine coolers'? does that mean they have no alcohol in them or something?
christina and i are 13, and martha is 12 btw.

Yes they do that is why they are called - Wine
Coolers. Basically wine diluted with soda. Just because she has pictures of this and of smoking doesn't mean that she uses and if she does it only means she's a loser. A little girl trying to act big. What a waste at such a young age. A drug is a drug.

im batteling myself right now with my addiction to alcohol and prescription pills( ex xanax), my party ways and my furture... alcohol has rele only brought me legal problems, and everything bad in my life thus far,......but i cant get away from it i tried a detox place, aa, and rehab for a day which i didnt like, but at the same time i cant picture my life without it it brings me to such an amazing place where im truly happy....i would hate a life w/o alcohol but at the same time its my biggest enemy...i need suggestions

I had my last drink in 1982 when I was 23 yrs old. I knew I had a problem and had been trying to stop for a couple of years. I also couldn't get my head around never drinking again and all this 'one day at a time' nonsense was a plain lie. My friends all went out and got blind drunk and seemed to get away with it and I was furious I didn't seem to.

Here was the bottom line for me. Just because I couldn't or wouldn't face up to it, just because I didn't understand it or didn't seem to be bad enough or willing enough to stop, was not going to change the reality of what it was - a big problem that wasn't going to go away, not ever until I dealt with it or died.

For me, there are two stages. One is an absolutely unconditional commitment to not taking a drink no matter what (if complete abstinence is what you're after). Many people make the mistake of thinknig they must be better people or perform better or certain other things must be in place in their lives for them to stop drinking (or drink normally), but actually, life is always throwing curved balls, people are always being rejected, not getting the job they wanted, or being in the place they think they deserve to be. If you want abstinence it has to be unconditional, because the ideal conditions will never be there.

The second stage, after making an unconditional commitment to stopping drinking, is to improve or resolve your emotional issues or disturbances; bearing in mind that their resolution is not a conditon of staying sober. I left AA after 12 yrs to be open to an alternative way of dealing with my underlying issues and eventually found it in Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy. Smartrecovery.org is also based on REBT.

If you do decide you would benefit from total abstinence then don't expect it to be comfortable. The first year is often nerve racking and the following couple of years easier, but by no means easy.

As an ex partier, I can retrospectively report that my delusions that life was only worth living with alcohl were not true, but represented my distorted way of looking at things, based on my emotional disturbances. A happier and healthier life, with much great enjoyment than the quick fix of alcohol can be worked for.

I hate to say this but I have a strong feeling that she might be. People who are depressed often drink to cover up their problems and people with Bipolar are sometimes the same way. I am Bipolar and I don't have any drug and alcohol problems but only because I have a history of Alcohol Addiction in my family and I know that it's not wise to drink when you're Bipolar. It's best to just take your medicine. But maybe Britney is undiagnosed Bipolar. She shaved her head and did all that stuff and went to rehab...but maybe they have missed the important picture. Maybe she is mentally ill and needs help!!!!!!!!!!!!!
