I heard some kids in school talking about a holistic approach in relation to drug and alcohol addiction. Does anybody know more about it? I'm just interested.
I think it's a special program given to people who are suffering from alcoholism and drug addiction. They provide treatment and services to help the patient recover faster. There's a website about the Holistic Approach. I added the link below. It's really informative.
I've had alcohol problem and i quit drinking months ago, but i'm still getting cravings. I thought once you go cold turkey these feelings would stop after a matter of weeks! How long does it usually take for an addiction to go before you can start drinking again?
You can't. An addiction like this is something you can learn to control, but never get rid of. If you ever drink again, it is most likely that you will succumb to your addiction again and end up where you were all those months ago. You may feel those cravings on and off for the rest of your life.
When you do a program like Alcoholics Anonymous, they explain all of this to you. Once an alcoholic, always an alcoholic, whether you ever touch the booze again or not. Your choice is between being a non-drinking alcoholic or not. Unfortunately, you can't just wait for the addiction to pass, like a cold, and then go back to your old ways and not expect to still be addicted.
I'd advise you to get help, if you're having trouble staying sober.

WRONG high fructose corn syrup is bad news . It will cause weight gain . possibly lead you into becoming a diabetic . The only to stop alcohol addiction is stop drinking . and get away from the environment that promotes drinking. Take it one day at a time . Plus if you have support from loved one and friends that will be great too. Alcohol turns into sugar in the blood stream any way . That's why diabetics can't drink alcohol and avoid fructose corn syrup altogether

DJ AM Photos amp; Pics | DJ AM Wanted To bHelp Addicts/b Like Himself
DJ AM was set to launch the MTV show "Gone Too Far," in which he would help drug and alcohol addicts get sober and regain their lives.
Adam spoke to MTV less than a month ago about the experience of shooting the series, and he even recounts a scene in which he walked into a bodega in New York and bought a crack pipe simply to illustrate how easy it was to purchase drug paraphernalia. He recounts how holding the pipe in his hand made him sweat and a flood of memories washed over him from the days when he couldn't live without the his "drug of choice."
You have to watch this chilling interview ...
We can only guess at this point as to why Adam made the choice to go back to drugs. There will always be speculation that the plane crash was too much for him, that his girlfriend breaking up with him recently was just too much. This is a man that had been sober for 11 years. Watching this interview, he very much appears to be a sober person. Someone not actively...
