We're really plumb out of money, but I also need to get my husband treated for his alcoholism. I fear that if I don't put him inside an alcohol rehab soon, he'll get worse. He's gotten more violent lately, and I just don't want this to continue on. Help please.

Friends of mine have an adult child who has already been through short term drug and alcohol rehab (2 weeks to 30 days) treatments, only to relapse. He needs longer term treatment to address the psychological problems associated with addiction; but like millions of other Americans he has no insurance.

Is anyone aware of any long term treatment centers that may help him?

Having just had a loved one go through this I know it can be incredibly tough. I do know that there are programs in Southern California that are long term - I believe that one is called Sobriety House in Orange County - that are truly not for profit and really do have long term - a year or so - and are very strict. You have to take the MMPI (Minnasota Multiphasic Personality Inventory) and go through significant testing first, but it is free. The other thing is that - and this is really sad - court ordered drug treatment is usually done at no cost. If this person hits bottom and ends up in the system they may be in a better position to get help. The family can't save him if he won't help himself. I would also call the county to ask about resources. Good luck, I know that it can be incredibly tough.

I'm wondering about how I can find alcohol rehabs here that will allow my mom to go with my dad in some of his counseling or therapy sessions while undergoing treatment for his alcohol addiction. I think it would really be beneficial for him.

I'm sure there are rehabs there that have couples therapy. Just ask around. :)

My daughter doesn't want to spend her time in rehab. I was wondering how I could find an outpatient treatment program for her. She's an alcoholic, and she wants to get her life back and not be dependent upon alcohol.

Determine first if your daughter doesn't need 24-hour supervision. Ask a healthcare provider or a doctor to assess her situation in order for you to know if an outpatient treatment program would be right for her. You can check the yellow pages to find contact information regarding these programs. Ask your doctor for help in choosing which kind of program would be right for yoru daughter. Then, have your daughter select a program that she feels comfortable with.A group of people that has the same background would be good for her as she won't be feeling so alone.

anyone know of a really good treatment program...inpatient or outpatient for vicodin and alcohol addiction. also for anger management, depression, marriage, and parenting?

this can depend on your age.
I know of a couple really good hospitals in Mi. that u can go to for rehab, depression, etc.. they are mental health facilities.
