Can High Fructose Corn Syrup help fight alcohol addiction?
Compassionate Counselor

it has many other health benefits and i was wondering if this was one
actually, bookworm, hfcs has a number of health BENEFITS
Actually, Alex S., HFCS has the SAME calories as sugar - 50 calories of hfcs has the same nutritional benefit of 50 calories of sugar

WRONG high fructose corn syrup is bad news . It will cause weight gain . possibly lead you into becoming a diabetic . The only to stop alcohol addiction is stop drinking . and get away from the environment that promotes drinking. Take it one day at a time . Plus if you have support from loved one and friends that will be great too. Alcohol turns into sugar in the blood stream any way . That's why diabetics can't drink alcohol and avoid fructose corn syrup altogether

This probably is a stress re-leaser. It does have a name what you do. Pica comes to mind I am not 100% sure. You need to get into therapy asap. Call your doctor tomorrow to get the name of someone too see...I know Wille Prada I think thats it where you eat all the time and never feel full. But I think thats food related. None the less you are in deep trouble you need help NOW!!!!!!!!!11

will my boyfriend lose his job if he goes to rehab for a drug addiction?
count of proceeds

My boyfriend wants to seek help for his drug addiction but he doesn't want to lose his job. He would be in rehab for about a month. Will he lose his job or is it illegal for them to fire him we live in Illinois.

Depending on the size of the company (number of employees), he may be able to apply under the companies insurance plan. Recently passed legislation by the US Employment Benefits Security Administration mandates companies to cover bouts of rehab for drug and /or alcohol addiction.

A termination for voluntary request for treatment would be a wrongful termination and he would have legal recourse.

How can I simulate addiction to smoking?
Help - Word in Red and Blue Capsules

I am working on a project that relates to addiction to smoking and how a person goes about with breaking this habit. I am not addicted to nicotine, I do not smoke tobacco on a regular basis, and I do not wish to for the purposes of this project. Is there any other way I can simulate the effects of addiction to smoking on a person? I have heard of certain ways to simulate this like running around a track breathing only through a drinking straw. Are there any other ways I can simulate addiction to smoking without actually doing so?

Start smoking a pipe with good pipe tobacco. Pipe smoking is a great and relaxing hobby.

bHelp/b For Sexual bAddiction/b | Ask the Therapist

I have a good friend that suffers from sexual addiction. She is a single Mom living in a shelter for abused women as part of a “second step” or “phase two” program. She is extremely worried that her addictions will destroy any relationship she might ever have with a man and also terrified of the life her daughter would have if she ends up succumbing to her desires. Is there anything I can do to help? What resources are available to learn more? Where can she go for help that is confidential, effective and inexpensive?

A. Your friend is fortunate to have your support, compassion and willingness to help. People with sexual addictions often feel alone and ashamed.

One idea is to talk to one of the shelter staff members about whether your friend can be referred to a sexual addiction counselor. Either you can speak to a staff member or she can. From my experience, individuals who work at the community level are the best resource regarding available local programs. Many of the women who enter shelters usually have a number of issues they are facing and need to be referred to one or many local resources. For instance, links to services may include food pantries, relationship and legal counseling, mental health and substance abuse services, housing services, and many more. This might be one way the shelter staff can help.

DJ AM Photos amp; Pics | DJ AM Wanted To bHelp Addicts/b Like Himself

DJ AM was set to launch the MTV show "Gone Too Far," in which he would help drug and alcohol addicts get sober and regain their lives.

Adam spoke to MTV less than a month ago about the experience of shooting the series, and he even recounts a scene in which he walked into a bodega in New York and bought a crack pipe simply to illustrate how easy it was to purchase drug paraphernalia. He recounts how holding the pipe in his hand made him sweat and a flood of memories washed over him from the days when he couldn't live without the his "drug of choice."

You have to watch this chilling interview ...

We can only guess at this point as to why Adam made the choice to go back to drugs. There will always be speculation that the plane crash was too much for him, that his girlfriend breaking up with him recently was just too much. This is a man that had been sober for 11 years. Watching this interview, he very much appears to be a sober person. Someone not actively...
